Built in partnership with Hiboo and delivered in just two months, GAP Track unifies data from across the UK’s largest independent hire fleet. The platform consolidates information from 11 different OEM and third‑party telematics sources, including JCB, Atlas Copco, Kubota, Wacker Neuson and Manitou, into one standardised, real‑time environment covering more than 10,000 connected assets.
What GAP Track delivers today
GAP Track is already live across the business and in the hands of customers:
- Customers can access live equipment data, including location, utilisation, idle time and carbon performance, directly through the platform
- 100’s of GAP users across depots, sales and senior management access it daily
- Data now flows automatically into GAP's ERP and internal systems, replacing manual checks across multiple portals
- 11 telematics sources have been integrated, with more being added
What this changes in practice
For GAP teams, the impact is immediate. Sales teams can walk into customer conversations with accurate, time‑aligned usage data, not estimates. Customers gain the reporting and sustainability insights increasingly required on major projects, without needing to request data manually.
GAP’s ambition is simple: to help customers use equipment better, with accurate, accessible and consistent data available on demand through a dedicated self‑service portal.
What comes next
By creating a governed, mixed-fleet data foundation, GAP Track is built for more than today's use cases. The platform will support future analytics, deeper customer intelligence and AI-enabled fleet optimisation, on GAP's terms, across every brand in its fleet, without being tied to any single OEM ecosystem. It also enables maintenance teams to plan servicing based on real machine hours, improving availability and reducing downtime.
Quotes
Clément Bénard, Co-founder and CEO, Hiboo:
“Mixed-fleet data only creates value when it is reliable enough to support operations and simple enough to share with customers. GAP is building that capability at scale, and we are proud to provide the data infrastructure behind it. Hiboo is in the way of strengthening its operation in UK where we have concluded strategic cooperations with major players.”
Gareth McGuinness, Chief Technology Officer, GAP Group:
“Data is becoming a core part of the service our customers expect from us. To deliver that across a fleet of this size and complexity, we needed one platform that could bring data together from every source, standardise it and make it usable across the business. Hiboo gives us that foundation, and it puts us in control of how we use our data to support our customers.”
